Graphic design
and the drawn
hand.

Editorial and type-led design, made by someone who still works in charcoal.

Charcoal and graphite drawing of a single eye, the iris rendered in warm amber against otherwise achromatic tone.

The drawing is not a hobby that sits beside the design.

Charcoal, graphite, collage. Portraits and figure studies, worked in tone rather than line, where the eraser does as much as the stick does.

It is the same eye that sets a page. Knowing how a shadow resolves into an edge is knowing how a column of type sits on a spread.
